Chicago Comedy Jams : Laugh Your A$$ Off
In The Chi Magazine’s Promotion Team had the pleasure of attending
Chicago Comedy Jam’s 2nd Annual
PRE -THANKSGIVINGS COMEDY ALL STAR JAM!!!
STARRING B.COLE, STICK, SHAWN MORGAN, HOT SAUCE WITH A SPECIAL APPEARANCE FROM TOMMY OF THE MARTIN LAURENCE SHOW
The show promised heavy hitters in the comedy game and delivered on this promise as it started with a host that could easily hold his own on stage that is with any comedian contender.
Stick’s energy and delivery of the jokes were on point and relevant. He kept the audience in stitches each time he approached the stage. His material was spontaneous and understood by all in attendance. The bottom line…..This man is funny as hell!!!
My favorite from the host was a joke that poked fun at the girls in the club that hold up that one finger and turn their heads to the side while dancing…..Too Funny!!!
The show continued with a comedian (which I will leave unnamed for the sake of his future in comedy) that was kinda new to the stage in comparison to the others comedians. The crowd booed him until an abrupt exit by the blinking of lights by host/ M.C. Stick. This escape rote was not only clever but very necessary at the time as the audience was becoming inpatient with his delivery.
One of the headliners B. Cole, pinned as a sexy G.Q. version of the rapper Game by a lustful In The Chi team member. B. Cole is a Chicago local from the “Wild 100′s.” You may remember him for acting roles from movies such as Barber shop, Love Jones , and his funny stand-ups on BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. B. Cole blazed the stage with his professional quality material for the very grown and sexy.
Leaving the audience asking for more.
Only to be followed by another hilarious comedian from St. Louis named Hot Sauce.. and hot he was from beginning to end. Hot Sauce fit in well with the likes of the other comedians. laughter and screams could be heard throughout the banquet hall as Hot Sauce jokes about Chicago having streets that the GPS system won’t even route you to, but instead speaks..please re-route. Embarrassing, but true.
The headliner of the night Shawn Morgan closed the show with fireworks in November. Shawn handled hecklers by complimenting them before as he stated ” He killed them in his jokes. Smooth…Funny and professional are the words that describe Shawn. His show had many dips and turns and ended with a special appearance by Tommy (Thomas Mikal Ford), who played Martin’s best friend on the Martin Lawrence Show as a young man whose mysterious employment status is the subject of frequent debate. Tommy enters the stage an proclaims ” I work, I got a job.
The venue for next month’s event is at DE JA VU ( the old secret lounge ) Sunday December 16th 2012. In The Chi Magazine’s Street & Promotion Team will be in the house taking pictures for the online magazine. Trust me this is a must see show!!!!
